My favorite song by Monica is her classic 98 single “First Night”. In this new age “hook up” society with fast women being referred to as “thots and hoes” , not enough women value their bodies anymore. Song’s like ” First Night” was Monica unapologetically saying ” yeah I’m feeling you, yeah i’m attracted to you, but that doesn’t mean i’m opening up my legs to you on our first date” #realshit
Oh you know it! Ohhhh and another classic..is her 95 track “Why I love you so much” .. to this day I get butterflies in my stomach when listening to that song… and the fact that Monica was only 15 years old when she recorded that track on her debut album “Miss Thang”.. her music was so mature and authentic from the very start… I didnt have the funds to buy tix but lord knows I would have bought tix the moment live nation announced her show at the Silver Spring Fillmore, so I’m staying hopeful that i’m selected to win
