When it’s February there is only one music producer that’s celebrated repeatedly throughout the entire month and that’s James “J Dilla” Yancey, respectfully. He’s one of the few great mega producers that has influenced the careers of some of the biggest artists in the music game includingErykah Badu, Common, D’Angelo, A Tribe Called Quest, Kendrick Lamar, and so many, many more. Even beyond just the music industry, his sound continues to inspire us all giving us the extreme pleasure to keep sharing his classics with the world and each other. We all know that everyone has a deep love for what J Dilla brought to the game and for that we are forever grateful for the work and art he left behind for us all to enjoy. With that said, all of this would not have been possible had Maureen “Ma Dukes” Yancey never birth him into this world, supported his dream and continue to share J Dilla’s music to echo his incredible legacy.
