Do you consider yourself a gamer? A connoisseur of virtual entertainment? Do you have a critical eye for bugs or simply just love to play games especially if they’re made by indie studios with no obligation to be creatively hindered by the masses (okay, so I exaggerated)?
Whatever part of the video gaming spectrum you’re into – the community is invited to come together for Betacade 002, the second event put together by Jordan Westfall in celebration of indie gamers, developers, and appreciators, held at the Pratt Street Ale House in Baltimore, MD.

If you recall our previous article on Betacade 001, you won’t be a stranger to the close community of over 100 gamers that gathered and even welcomed studios from as far as Richmond to play games and enjoy great food and drinks at Laughing Man Tavern in D.C.(you can check out some really great photos by Petruzzo Photography here). Betacade 001 was great, but Betacade 002 will be even better.
‘Why,’ do you ask?
Of course I’m going to tell you… At the Pratt Street Ale House, there will be two floors of over 25 indie games (and a capacity of over 300 to fill) as of the 18th of August, but will expand if necessary. With commemorative t-shirts and free giveaways like tickets to Betacade 003, other Betacade items, and even a few items from sponsor Third Eye Comics, making the trek won’t be any bit of a waste. The organizers are also running a Twitter campaign before and during Betacade 002 where you’ll be entered to win tickets to the Baltimore event, prizes, and other fun stuff each week – check out their Twitter () or the event site for more details.
Congrats to all the winners today! Continue gaming next month at ! http://t.co/pTxwT6nPwg pic.twitter.com/2neiMhj6Mr — BETACADE (@BETACADE)
Now, it’s an Ale House, so you won’t be left thirsty – the first 100 registered gamers and developers will win something called a Pint Card. With these, every $7 of food purchased, you get a pint of beer.
Who can you look out for at Betacade 002? If you follow the Betacade twitter, they’ll be announcing developers by and by – luckily we’ve found out their first officially announced game:

Pixel Bot Games, who’ll be bringing their latest creation, Canari, for fans to demo.
Betacade 002 will be on September 4 with the doors to the Pratt Street Ale House opening at 7:00 p.m. You can get your tickets, pre-order t-shirts, or sign up to be a presenting developer through their online registration or you can contact Jordan Westfall () or email .
