Stereo joined forces withThe Blender Radio hosts Miss DJ Gemz and DJ Tony Drake to cover the 2014 Baltimore Comic Con, which was awesome in more ways than one. There were a ton of things to do including checking out the cool cosplay, learning how to draw, scoring rare comic books, and meeting amazing people. This year’s Con included many notable characters like the Fantastic Four, Optimus Prime, Spiderman, Harley Quinn and more. This journey was a long one but the experience was one to remember as it concluded with a chance to meet the creators of the Hulk, Superman, and Dick Tracy.
One of the fun parts of the Con included interviewing some of the fans of the big time event and finding out why they were there. Some would say, “I’m here to check out the cosplay”, while others would say, “I’m big on finding rare comics.” All in all no matter the reason as to why each person stepped into the building that day, everyone seemed to be on a mission to have a great time and portray a character they admired whether from a video game or animated series.
As the day progressed I just knew there was absolutely no way I could leave the Con without picking up something so I went in for the special collector issue of Hip Hop Family Tree created by Ed Piskor. It’s a pretty dope read featuring awesomely illustrated images of Hip Hop royalty. Although it’s not the traditional Spider-Man, Hulk, or Batman comic book it’s what speaks to me so it’s just as valuable. If you haven’t had a chance to check it out definitely check out the video and if you were there definitely let us know who you were and what you picked up while at the Baltimore Comic Con.
