When you got a good beat and some fun lyrics that’s all it takes to create an awesome track like Uhh! The first time I heard this song live at the Rock And Roll Hotel on H St. was bananas. All I can remember is how the people in the building started going crazy reciting the lyrics while Nature Boi and Brain Rapp hopped into the crowd rapping the lyrics.
With much joy and excitement, I’m finally glad to be able to hear the studio version of this track in all of its glory. When you first press play, instantly you might say to yourself man this is dark and ratchet, but you can’t deny the feelings that are being conveyed in this song. After interviewing with WAMU, Nature Boi reveals that this song was created at a time in his life where there were, life altering situations that inspired this heavy-hitting track. One including the passing of his mother a few years ago and him battling with internal demons that sparked him to have the energy you’ll hear in this song.
Although he mentions that his mother wanted him to go to school and be an Electrical Engineer in his interview with WAMU, I have to say I hope he continues on the path of his passion for music as he has a gift that needs to continue to be shared with the world. It’s pretty evident, especially knowing that he can be found DJing, rapping and producing at any given moment. While coming off of the high of his last project release with Brain Rapp, Elevator Music, he has set plans to release a solo project titled, Super Natural later this year and I’m sure that’ll be a solid listen as well.
