Nothing was the same at this years Trillectro Music Festival in Washington, D.C. New venue, new artist (for the most part) and a totally new vibe. Sometimes newness is always a good thing which in my opinion is what I witnessed at Trillectro this year.
I have to admit the the rain in the early part of the day was big factor on the overall feel of the festival compared to last year; With that being said it wasn’t the only factor. The venue although bigger and probably more accessible to attendees, didn’t feel as intimate as I’d want it to be. The 2 stages felt miles apart and the vendors and sponsor tables didn’t feel part of the overall experience.
With performances by artist like Sango, GoldLink, SZA, & Big Sean; Trillectro definitely catered to the wide of music lovers that were in attendance. From the EDM movement of Bauuer to the ATL rap gods on the group Migos, both stages were lit, start to finish. We were even blessed with a surprise performance by Travis Scott, who tore the stage down and got the crowd hype.
Overall, great times were had. Trillectro always delivers and I look forward to attend for the 3rd time next year. Hopefully the weather situation is in our favor and a better location is in order by then. Stay tuned until then.
