This couldn’t have come at a better time. The University of Maryland Terrapins have closed the deal to join the BigTen conference. This will open up many more doors for the university and also make the competitive sports on campus a big deal. Not only will UMD play better talent, they’ll be sure to get more TV time throughout the year adding more eyeballs to screens to check out the Terps.
As the football season approaches, UMD has one of the best wide-receivers in the game right now in Stephon Diggs and a coach (Randy Edsall) that will do anything to win. With all of the excitement geared around the BigTen debut, UMD’s alum Kevin Plank, Founder of Under Armour, has made sure to suit his team up with the toughest gear for each game this year. There has also been an awesome video put together to announce and promote their entry into the BigTen conference. Some of the games lined up on their schedule right now include taking on University of Indiana, Ohio State, University of Iowa , Wisconsin, Penn State, Michigan State, Michigan, and Rutgers.
I have to say this is one of the most exciting things to happen to UMD, as this will only amplify the Terp pride on it’s campus and draw bigger crowds to many of their games. So be on the lookout for what’s to come with this new magnificent change. Let us know how you think the Terps will fair in the new conference in the comments below.
