When you think about professional hockey, The Washington Capitals come to mind as they have some of the best players (Nicklas Backstrom, Braden Holtby, Alex Ovechkin) in the NHL, it’s only right that they were blessed with some awesome jersey’s for The 2015 Winter Classic. Overall the design for them are just outstanding considering they really put a ton of thought into the jersey’s they’ll rock at rare game that’ll take place outside in The Washington National’s Park.
The old school stripes on the shoulder pads section of the jersey are just beautiful and one of my favorite features of the jersey is the way the designer incorporated the DC Monument and DC’s flag into the main patch on the front of the jersey. It’s subtle but definitely gorgeous as he/she decided to use the rich navy blue and a strong typeface for the lettering for “Capitals”. Most definitely I’ll be sure to pick up one of these before the game thanks to my Eastbay catalogue coming in this month.
Much recognition and love goes to the mega genius photographer, Stephen Gosling for capturing the first glimpse of these and recording history for these amazing uniforms. If your in the DC after the new years definitely be sure to buy your tickets early for the Winter Classic game, Thursday January 01, 2015, between The Washington Capitals and The Chicago Blackhawks at The Nationals Park.
