Julian King is one of the few young R&B acts that truly creating the kind of R&B you learn to fall in love with all over again. At first, listen it’s almost reminiscent of the R&B you’d hear in the late 90s and early 2000s, yet it’s still refreshing to hear in this day and age. The Philadelphian, singer-songwriter, is still very early in his career and has room to grow and develop his talents but he’s definitely on the right track to rightfully doing just that. If he manages to continue to work hard and push towards his dream he may soon find his names in the likes of Quest Love of The Roots, Will Smith, Jazmine Sullivan, Boyz II Men, DJ Jazzy Jeff and more, as Philly royalty.
His latest EP Sing For You, is loaded with a perfect mix of R&B and Pop tunes from a fresh dynamic perspective most people can enjoy. I have to say after listening to his EP it reminds me of a young Chris Brown before he actually bursts into fame and notoriety. If you’re in need of a solid R&B project to jam to when you’re chilling with your special someone or while working this is the project for you.
Immediately, off the top of my mind, the tracks that stand out the most amongst them all are Unforgettable, Mine, and Sing For You. Overall, I’m definitely looking forward to the King’s upcoming LP as I’m sure it’ll be full of hits and lively.
