When it Scorpio season and it is your birthday and on that very same day one of your favorite R&B singer’s birthday, the day is already great. What really put it over the top was going out on faith to go to an event that was already sold out and still finding a way to make sure you don’t miss the moment. The moment I’m speaking of is seeing Alex Vaughn celebrate the release of her latest project, The Shift.
After speaking with the executive producer of the project, DJ Money. He shared that this project was a long way in the making and took about a year and a half to produce. This goes without saying but if you have not had the opportunity to listen to The Shift you are truly doing yourself a disservice. This project has all the makings of a great R&B album and you can tell Vaughn held nothing back in expressing her feelings on love and time. This was definitely a feat that took a lot of energy, emotion, and talent to pull off. Vaughn managed to tap plenty of talent wide and far including Odd Mojo, Kora The Artist, Romderful, De’Jour Thomas, Dejuan Crooks, FootsXColes, and more.
At the event, you could just feel the energy of the room of as the love and excitement was on ten the entire night. DJ P Knock and Kevin Bontello also made serious effort to get the crowd ready for Vaughn’s arrival as well. Once Vaughn finally arrived at the venue she snapped photos with several of her friends, family, and supporters as she greeted them with smiles. Once she got settled in everyone in the room sung happy birthday too her as she grinned from ear to ear in joy. Shortly after, she began sharing stories about her latest release including highlighting where the inspiration came from for her song 10 Seconds. She spoke on how that song origin came to her while she was at work frustrated and handling a call at the same time reminding herself to take a quick break to breathe.
As the night moved forward the room would celebrate every track that was played and it only felt like the love and crowd grew throughout the night. Overall it was an incredible night and I’m forever grateful to Alex Vaughn’s parents for pouring in all of the love they have into her for her to create the music she does. I’m also sending a huge shoutout to DJ Money for allowing me to experience this moment in time as I enjoyed my birthday night and it’ll be one I’ll remember for years to come.
