Simisola Olabisi Dahunsi, who goes by the mononym Simisola, is a Nigerian Dutch-American singer-songwriter and dancer. Now if that’s too much to take in, understand that everything that makes this beautiful woman comes out of her sweet vocals on her single, Refuge. This is at no surprise considering her influences include jazz, soul, r&b, hip hop, folk, and afrobeat. You’ll find all of these unique elements in her latest release Kings & Queens Love Quest.
She’s also a part of music royalty considering her Uncle is Yomi Omidiran, who has produced for artist such as King Sunny Ade, Majek Fashek Onyeka Onwenu and many others for her musical exposure. One of the things I like most about Simisola is the fact she takes music seriously and puts her all into her music. This is proven considering the Berklee College of Music alum is out to conquer all of her dreams with her dreamy vocals. “Music is a life long journey, where your stop doesn’t have to be your end,” —Simisola.
Definitely check out her other tracks as well to get a good feel for this new emerging artist, as she’s one you’ll want to keep track of for sure, man!
