Lollapalooza, the largest music festival in Chicago, is planning to grow even larger by next year! Lolla is known for featuring popular alternative rock, heavy metal, hip hop, and EDM music, while also debuting new and upcoming bands. Last year, they brought Paul McCartney, the Weeknd, 21 Pilots, and much more to Grant Park in Chicago. This 3-day festival is celebrating it’s 25th anniversary by adding an extra day and expect to bring over 170 bands to Grant Park next summer.
Perry Farrell, the founder of Lollapalooza, decided to expand the festival from Thursday-Sunday, instead of having it start on Friday. He exclaimed, “when the party can’t wait for the weekend, the movers and shakers make it happen on Thursday!” Perry wants to showcase the abundance of talent, and feels he could provide this with an extra day of music.
Mark your calendars: the festival will be held July 26th -31st. Tickets will be priced at $335 for a four-day general admission. Stay tuned for the ticket sale date and lineup, which should be announced in the spring!
