If you know anything about Spillage Village, you’d know that Baltimore’s Jordxn Bryant is the collective’s hidden gem. With a talented roster that features EarthGang, J.I.D., and Hollywood JB, Jordxn’s skill is the piece that completes Spill Vill team. It’s been three years since the release of his debut project Quiet Life, and the follow-up will hopefully be set to drop in 2016. But, in the meantime, Jordxn Bryant’s progress over the years has been evident with his loose tracks. His poetic style is dazzling and his ability to craft songs has improved a long way since 2013. And, while his latest release is a demo, Jordxn just can’t seem to miss.
“Wings,” which was produced by fellow Baltimore native, J. Robb, is a pensive view into Jordxn Bryant’s world. The vibe of the track is mellow, but it’s one of those songs you’ll find yourself playing on repeat. Jordxn is lyrically sharp as he vents with a subtle tone and a sense of guilt in the song’s short offering. He’s facing inner demons while expressing the struggles of a particular relationship. But, he welcomes it all with open arms — the utterance of his story is heartfelt and it sticks with listeners. Again, it’s just a demo, but it’s far from a sleeper.
If this is another piece of the puzzle towards his next project, Jordxn Bryant will be a name to look out for soon enough.
