I hope you’re hyped because next month, September 3-5th during Labor Day Weekend, there will be a music lover’s dream taking place in Annapolis, MD. The Dig is a three-day weekend full of non-stop music and entertainment featuring an Open Mic, Jamla Showcase, and Record Fair. Last year, we managed to get an opportunity to check out the very first event put on by the Conglomerate and it was quite impressive. Check out the details below.
Thursday, September 3rd
You can expect to experience the What’s Dope Open Mic featuring some awesome music artist and poets. You’ll definitely want to make sure you check it out as it’s one of the few Hip-Hop and Poetry open mics in the Annapolis area. I’ve also heard great things about it so I’m sure it’s legit.
Friday, September 4th
On Friday you can experience the Jamla Showcase, featuring the living legend 9th Wonder, alongside Rapsody, Heather Victoria, Gods’illa, and more. Jamla is never short on talent as they all possess the gift to make beautiful music. If you’re a Hip-Hop head this event is mandatory for you to come out to and have a good time. Also, be sure to stay tuned as we will be giving away two free tickets to the event.
Saturday, September 5th
To bring everything together on Saturday, The Dig allows you to experience the sounds of The True School while you set out to dig the crates and find those classic records you’ve been meaning to add to your record collection for a while. I encourage any up-and-coming DJ, vinyl collector, or music lover to come to this event as the records you’ll find there will surprise you. Last year I managed to find classic records from some of my favorite artists including The Notorious B.I.G., Lauryn Hill, Cam’Ron and more.
