STK has to be one of the best Steakhouses in Washington, D.C. and here’s why. We’ve managed to go grab a bite at the infamous steakhouse that’s building a “Buzz bigger than insects in Texas,” as Kanye West would say. Now I will say that their food is fucking awesome and the service is pretty on par as well. Here’s a recap of my experience at STK DC.
Now if you’re looking for a great meal and you’re hungry this is totally the place for you as the menu has a ton of options to fulfill every food lovers appetite. You can easily find a great burger, awesome steak, and even a pretty solid appetizer as well. If you’re looking for a cool place to eat in the DMV (DC, Maryland, and Virginia area) this is the place for you.
While there, I took advantage of the lunch menu which included a Mixed Green Salad, 8 Oz. Skirt Steak, French Fries, and Banana Pudding in a Jar; not to mention you receive a ridiculously large serving of bread buttered up with blue cheese which is pretty baller. The salad was amazing. It had all of the flavors to make your tastebuds go wild and included demi sec cherry tomatoes, manchego, and sherry emulsion. I got the steak cooked medium-well and it was filling and tasty at the same damn time. Now I’ve had my fair share of great steaks from Bobby Van’s, Ruth Chris Steak House, Capital Grille, Fogo de Chão, etc. and STK holds up to them all! The french fries were good as well but after eating some bread, good ass steak, and salad they become a challenge to finish off. Lastly, the Banana Pudding desert was tasty and def one of the best ones I’ve ever had at a restaurant that wasn’t from Big Momma’s house.
As for the service it was pretty good. The waiter was very knowledgable about all of the offerings at the Steakhouse and he went above and beyond to make sure my guest and I were taken care of. The atmosphere was pretty cool as well. It was a bit on the dark side to create an intimate setting but I def think some more ambient lights could’ve livened up the place. Overall I’d recommend STK DC for anyone looking for things to do over the weekend. It’s definitely great for date nights, happy hours, and get togethers. The price range is moderately high ($30-$50+ per person) but it’s well worth it considering the fact that their food is amazing. When you get an opportunity definitely check them out at 1250 Connecticut Ave NW, Washington, DC 20036.
