Besides the hurricane rolling through the District, temperatures officially dropped this week.
Did you see sunlight? Because I saw nothing from my 9-5 cubicle. Here’s our pick of some of the best fall sneakers to keep you warm as the seasons change.
While the hype turned real for those Jordan Laneys (IDFWU), prepare for the real season where the best sneakers come out before winter storms and salty streets takeover.
Here’s what you need to cop before it gets any colder:
Y-3 Qasa
If you have the bread, your first thought should be to put one of the classic Y-3 Qasa’s in your closet. This all-black sneaker is versatile in every shape and form with its not too-over-the-top design and all-black shade.
Nike Air Presto Fleece
Released earlier this month, the Nike Air Presto’s remain one of the most hype sneakers this season. It’s simple, yet classic silhouette mixes near perfect with its fall colors. While this sneaker dropped in Japan, several other fleece options exist on Nike.com.
Nike Air Huarache Run Mid
All my ladies put your hands in the air because we finally have a sneaker similar to the men’s Adidas Xeno. Make sure you wear your hottest shades with these shoes because they light up in a way that no other shoe does. While your basic friends wear their low-top Huaraches, be sure to laugh back at them with these on your feet.
Adidas Ultra Boosts-Silver
There’s something special about the new boosts and we can’t quite put our finger on what makes them unique. Between Kanye West wearing the Ultra Boosts, soon after sporting Yeezy all-white boosts, “boosts” made a name for itself in 2015.
ICNY x Puma Trinomic
Before you know it, Puma will have officially made its comeback. After hiring the “Bitch Better Have My Money” goddess, only positivity can be expected. With collaborations from one of the leading contemporary men’s designers to date, we’re prepared to pounce like the jaguar on a Puma logo to buy it.
Ronnie Fieg x New Balance
If you’ve been keeping up with American trends, then you’re all too familiar with New Balances. When I roamed around in London, this was possibly one of the most sought out shoes that broke necks while on the streets. While I can’t personally fall in love with the the giant “N,” any hypebeast would instantly “add to cart” upon seeing Ronnie Fieg’s name on any shoe in this lifetime.
ASICS GEL-Kayano
The Japanese athletic company broke into the lifestyle scene with its up-and-coming gel lyte. Repeal water off these blue babies because they come complete with Gore-Tex technology and a bit of checkered print on the interior.
NikeLab Payaa
Let’s be real, while Roshes (Ones?/Runs?) can be seen left and right on feet, Nike knew it was time for a new sneaker to hit the market. In comes the Payaa, a minimally designed, lightweight sneaker. The best part: no laces. It’ll be my new go-to travel sneaker all throughout the fall season, especially with its variety of colors and easy slip-on access.
