When an artist starts their mixtape out with a scene from the Fresh Prince Of Bel Air, you already know it’s going to be pretty good. Hailing out of sunny California is a dope female emcee that goes by the name ofC. Carter. Now she’s not like any of the other artists you’re used to encountering out of Compton, USA but she got bars for days and has an ear for selecting ill beats.
Some of the tracks that I favor the most from Ms. Carter at the moment is definitely West, Good Good, Beast. One of the things I enjoy the most about her music is that it’s not taking on the typical stereotypical west coast sound minus the fact that she’s super lyrical. While listening to her music, you’ll hear influences of trap music, chopped and screwed, and more.
If you’re looking for a real true female emcee, you’ll definitely want to press play and follow C. Carter as she continues to grow into a standout artist on the west coast.
