Today is definitely full of excitement as there’s a line-up that every music lover can and will enjoy. This year the weather is perfect and to make things special the main event was hosted by Rodney Rikai and Scottie Beam with dope performances from Hood Celebrity, Lightshow, Coach Bombay, Rich The Kid, H.E.R., Daniel Caesar, Nipsey Hussle, Cardi B, Miguel, Migos, and more. This year Broccoli City decided to host the main events at RFK Stadium in the heart of Washington, D.C. It’s been great seeing Broccoli City Festival continue to grow, get stronger, better, and evolve over the years and we’re excited to be covering the main event today!
It always feels good when Broccoli City comes to town and brings so much positivity to the community. The festival is one thing but when they decide to get people up off their couches to participate in a 5K Run to stay healthy, dance at Union Market, or gear up to have a great time at the afterparty at Ivy City; everything falls into place smoothly. This year the festival had a lot of incredible sponsors including Bubly Sparkling Water, Planned Parenthood, Heineken, MLB, Toyota, Lyft, Jameson Irish Whiskey, Martell Cognac, Absolut, Avion Tequila, Malibu, Seagram’s Gin, DTLR, Capital City Co.
This year every performance added something special to this big day. Whether it was Nipsey Hussle getting the crowd hyped to FDT or Cardi B making her last performance her best one yet until she becomes a mother made it all well worth the wait. I can definitely say the balance of hip-hop, rnb, and just dope music period was on point as the organizers did their thing to pull everything together.
This was definitely one hell of an event and we’re definitely looking forward to the next one come next year! Feel free to comment below and let us know what you loved most about Broccoli City Festival this year. Again much love to Maurice and the rest of the team at Broccoli City for the opportunity and blessing to come out and cover the beauty of this event.
