Coming off of the success of his mixtape UsvsRobots, Ace Cosgrove has not let up and he made sure to let us know that with his latest release of Baby Need Food. After seeing him perform at the first annual Landmark Festival it was clear that he’s never short of having thought-provoking lyrics and he always finds the smooth Hip-Hop beats to rhyme on which is rare to find these days in Hip-Hop. Whether, it’s a boom bap beat or an ill soul sample he’s bound to find a way to lace the track with his truth as an all out lover of Hip-Hop.
I first came across Ace Cosgrove’s music after covering an event at U St. Music Hall in Washington, D.C. and ever since I heard the high energy tracks on UsvsRobots I’ve been following him quite close to see what’s next for the upcoming DMV (DC, Maryland, and Virginia) emcee. Although it’s clear that he’s still defining his style as an emcee it’s also very evident that his style and voice will soon be heard by the masses.
As mentioned above, there are a few tracks off of his Baby Need Food album that I thoroughly enjoy including Baby Need Clothes, Seek Revenge, Side Joint, and Freddies Dead. After listening to these tracks specifically it definitely gave me enough to realize he’s hella talented and it’s only a matter of time before he blows. I’d also suggest listening to Golden Chills, Dirty Dancing and Making Moves on his UsvsRobots project as well.
