The hometown emceeChaz French has come to the table with a new banger titled, “A Go!” and it bangs harder than anything you got in your iPod right now. It’s only kosher that he’ll create an anthem about how he’s feeling right now as he’s continuing to build and his legacy in the rap game. He has proven a lot already as one of 368 Music Group prize jewels along with Raheem Devaughn and Phil Adé. I can definitely say that I enjoy seeing him grow into a seasoned emcee that can go much further than the DMV circuit.
Having seen him perform several times in the city I’m convinced that he has what it takes to break into the mainstream as his live shows are always lit and the crowd vibes off of his insane energy and clever lyricism. After making much noise with his mixtape Happy Belated and rocking out shows at U St. Music Hall, Sweetlife Festival, and more, his only competition is himself. We will definitely be looking forward to the next project to come from the CCCLXVIII artist and will definitely be sure to share it with all of you Champs.
You’re now fucking with the G.O.A.T.! — Chaz French
The thing I like the most about this track is hearing him say “I’m going to do it for the city nigga / I’ma bring a Grammy home!” that verse alone said a lot. It shows that he understands the city is waiting for a new sound and even with all of the success he accomplishes in the future he’ll never forget about where he’s from. That’s what being a Stereo Champion is all about mang. More than anything this well-produced track by D. Woo just does something to your spirit and Chaz don’t let the beat down as he laces it with well thought out lyrics of him speaking the dreams into existence.
Also, if you haven’t been paying attention to his SoundCloud you’ll definitely want to check out, What Ya Say ft. Saba which is a bit darker in the delivery of the ills of society mixed with his vision for the future of his career. Much love to him for giving Temple Hills a shout out in this one too.
