Ever since Raury released his debut project Indigo Child, the Atlanta artist has been receiving a ton of attention ranging from critical acclaim to even Gucci Mane wanting to feature him on a track. Although his musical talent excels in a diverse set of genres, its his performances that should be acclaimed with his talent.
Last night, Raury had a show at U Street Music Hall, and killed his performance. Moments before his excellent set, the 18 year old seemed pretty calm, yet focused on what he had to do. But when Raury hit the stage, his energy was on a thousand until he left after the impromptu encore. During Raury’s set, he performed several hits from Indigo Child including “Cigarette Song”, “God’s Whisperer”, and “Woodcrest Manor”, but the night would also include his outstanding featured verses from SBTRKT’s higher. He was also backed by an amazing band, who made a spotlight of their own by moving and going crazy on the tracks.
In a nutshell, Raury shut U Street Hall down. His performance was as energetic as a big name artist, but the small area at the venue made the performance made the experience far more intimate.
