Kilo Kish has always been known for her creativity from her textile design to being hands on with her video concepts. So it shouldn’t be any surprise that her videos for her debut album Reflections in Real Time would each be unique in their own right. This go around Kish isn’t getting breakfast poured on top of her head, in fact she doesn’t even physically appear in the video. Opting for a less messier visual, unlike her February release of Existential Crisis Hour, Kish takes a cleaner approach and offers us Hello, Lakisha.
Her second video Hello, Lakisha is an under 2 minute animation about her life up to this point and what she visions it’ll be up until her death. Co-directed by Yongoh Kim the duo create a colorful cartoon world filled with trippy interpretations of Lakisha’s upbringing and journey to New York all in a video game fashion. Throughout the song Lakisha explains the origins of her name and how it evolved into the Kilo Kish we know today. She was recently on a few tour stops on Santigold’s We Buy Gold Tour and since has been making her rounds in the fashion industry making various appearances . No word of an actual tour just yet so in the meantime you can check out her latest project here.
