As the days go by, the weather only gets colder and colder. And, as you know, the winter time is the season of finding love or at least having a good time with someone until the spring/summer comes around. Sounds foolish, but hey, no one really wants to be lonely while the weather outside is frightful and the holiday spirit infectiously takes over. Also, while the season is currently in effect, it doesn’t hurt to have some music to be the soundtrack for many lovers out there. That’s where DC artist Kingpen Slim comes in to play. His latest release, “L.A.N.”, could help get you through the cold nights whether you’re alone or with that special someone.
The J. Buttah-produced cut, which reworks the classic Notorious B.I.G track, “Sky’s The Limit”, displays Kingpen Slim in a vulnerable state as he reflects on the ups and downs of relationships in his new effort. Alongside the help of Chicago singer/songwriter John Blu on hook duties, this record couldn’t have dropped at a better time. The best part of the song is that there’s a piece for everyone to relate to it; nothing fabricated from the Kingpen Slim/John Blu collaboration. Once again, as the weather gets colder and colder, “L.A.N.” will stand in rotation for a pretty lengthy amount of time. Press play and let the games begin. Happy cuffing season!
