Day-by-day, Jay IDK is winning over some heavy hitters of the music industry and gaining new fans. Just five days away from his debut album,SubTrap, the highly-anticipated project’s continuous and creative promo has plenty of Jay’s supporters thrilled for its release. Though the excitement is high, Jay IDK hasn’t released any music in months since the album’s lead single, “The Plug,” dropped in March. But, as the momentum remains on Jay’s side, he and his team called on Mass Appeal to premiere a new track to hold fans over until next Tuesday. In follow-up to “The Plug,” the Ash Riser-featured “God Said Trap” couldn’t have came at a better time to boost expectations for SubTrap.
The album’s second leak is a staple of Jay IDK’s focus on meshing substance with a trap-based sound. While the beat (prod. by GameBrand, Jay IDK, and Skhyehutch) is sure to boom through the speakers, it’s the subject matter that’ll catch your attention. Debating between graduating deeper into the drug game or going the legal route for money, Jay’s alter ego King Trappy clashes with his personal turmoil in hopes of success. Greed or normalcy? The choice is made by the end of the track, but we’re sure the entire story will reveal itself throughout the album. You might want to hear SubTrap in its entirety to find out.
Make sure to pre-order SubTrap on iTunes. If you’re in the DMV area and want an early listen of the album, Jay IDK will be hosting a listening session in DC this Sunday!
